Since YBC’s official founding in 1989, we have been a 100% employee owned and operated company. We are the largest employee owned lumber and building material supplier in Pennsylvania. 1989
Your Building Centers is founded and becomes 100% employee owned.
1994
YBC installed sales division is launched.
1997
YBC acquires 7 new retail locations, doubling in size as a company.
2001
The first home improvement design center is opened in Huntingdon. This store is a precursor to the state-of-the-art showrooms in Altoona, State College, and Williamsport.
2005
The 220,000 square foot Beech Creek facility becomes home to Keystone Truss and Panels. Keystone Truss is YBC’s manufacturing arm and produces roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels for construction projects.
2013
The first YOUR Home Solution Center opens in Williamsport, PA. This store features an over 10,000 square foot showroom with over 50 kitchen and bath displays, a 3,000 square foot flooring department, a large window and door gallery, and exterior siding and stone selections.
2014
Your Building Centers celebrates 25 years of employee ownership.
2015
YBC acquired (CPC) Central Pennsylvania Components. In September, YBC completed the purchase of Robert G. Miller in Hanover, PA. R.G. Miller is both a specialty distributor and installer of siding, decking, railing, gutter, kitchen, and bath products.
2017
YBC acquired Klinger Lumber in Elizabethville, PA. Klinger Lumber has been servicing the people of Dauphin County for over 60 years. They specialize in stocking high quality lumber and building products.
2019
YBC celebrated 30 years of employee ownership. In January, YBC purchased Berlin Lumber & Truss in Berlin, PA. Berlin Lumber offers quality building materials and was named 2018’s Reader’s Choice Award winner for Somerset County.
2021
YBC acquired Palmerton Lumber in Palmerton, PA. Palmerton Lumber has been Palmerton Lumber has been serving contractors, builders, remodelers, and serious do-it-yourselfers with top quality brand name building products that you know and trust since 1995.
2022
YBC purchased Allensville Planing Mill in April of 2022. APM began in 1959 by Karl Westover and has been part of the Central Pennsylvania Business Community for over sixty years. The organization has three True Value hardware and building supplies stores and manufactures roof trusses, wall panels, and floor trusses..
