OFFICIAL RULES:

1. No Purchase is necessary to enter or win
A purchase will not improve your chances of winning. All federal, state and municipal laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.

2. Eligibility
There is a maximum of one (1) entry per household. For purposes of these Official Rules, a "household" includes all people who share the same residence for at least three (3) months a year, regardless of familial relationships.

Subject to the additional restrictions below, the contest (YBC's "Ugliest Kitchen Contest"), is open to legal residents within YBC's marketing area defined by YBC who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and who own their own home (house townhouse or condo).

Employees, officers and representatives of all sponsors listed below, and their immediate family members are not eligible to win. The term "immediate family members" includes spouses, parents, grandparents, siblings and children.

3. How to Enter
The contest will begin on Monday January 24, 2011.
There are three (3) steps necessary to enter the contest.

Step 1: Fill out an official form. Complete a form available at your local YBC or enter online at by clicking (here).

Step 2: Provide at least three (3) photos of your current kitchen, each photo at a different perspective/angle. If you wish to submit digital photos please: 1) complete the registration process online at www.ybconline.com 2) include images on a CD or 3) email to: uglycontest@ybconline.com . NOTE: When submitting digital pictures through email, be sure to include the YBC location closest to your home, your legal name, address, and phone numbers.

If submitting photographic prints, please attach them to your completed official entry form. Be sure to mark on each print the YBC location closest to your home, your legal name, address, and phone numbers.

All entries must depict the kitchen of a home owned by the eligible contestant in the local YBC market area

Step 3: Bring in your completed entry form with photos to your local YBC or complete your online submission. If mailing a CD or prints & completed entry form send in a postage paid envelope to:

All entries must be postmarked or submitted online by March 27, 2011 and become the property of YBC. Photographs and questionnaire answers must be the original work of the Contestant. Do not copy the work of others.

Sponsors will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, postage due, misdirected or illegible entries. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Contest. All entries become the property of the sponsor and none will be returned. By entering the contest, you grant the Sponsor an irrevocable, non-exclusive royalty-free license to broadcast, display on its website, copy, edit and otherwise use your entry materials, including your photographs, and essay, for promotional or commercial purpose.

4. Winner Selection
On March 28, 2011, one finalist will be selected at each YBC location for a total of Fourteen (14) finalists. A panel of judges appointed by the sponsor will evaluate all eligible entries received based on the following criteria: (1) degree of challenge depicted in the entry photos and the potential for improvement of the contestant's kitchen appearance and design and (2) the quality of the contestant's questionnaire explanation as to why his or her kitchen deserves to be the Grand Prize Winner.

Between the dates of March 30, 2011 and April 26, 2011 all Fourteen finalists photos will be posted on YBC website (ybconline.com) for the public to view and cast their vote online for the kitchen they believe to be the YBC's "Ugliest Kitchen Contest" WINNER. The Grand Prize Winner will be selected based on receiving the most online votes of the fourteen finalists.

YBC will announce the winner on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. There will be only one Grand Prize winner.

5. Prizes and Odds
Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive Diamond cabinets, HanStone Quartz Counter Top all with a combined Manufactures Suggested List price not to exceed $20,000.00. All materials will be selected by one of YBC's Kitchen Designers and agreed upon by the Grand Prize winner. HanStone Quartz Countertop can not exceed 70 sq. ft. of material.

By accepting the Grand Prize the Grand Prize winner expressly agrees to release and hold harmless the sponsor and other Released Parties from any and all liabilities, claims, damages, costs and expenses arising out the contest, the kitchen project, or the Grand Prize Winner's acceptance or use of any prize.

The Grand Prize Package has an estimated value of $20,000.00 manufactures suggested list price for the Diamond cabinet, HanStone Quartz Counter Top. Winner is responsible for all other materials required for the project, including but not limited to tear out of old cabinets, disposal of the old kitchen and labor required to complete the project. No labor is provided by YBC to complete the project.

The foregoing allowances represent good faith estimates of the values of various components of the kitchen project to be awarded and the actual value of the Grand Prize project may differ depending on the specific details of the project. Under no circumstances will the Sponsor be obligated to award a Grand Prize kitchen renovation package valued at more than $20,000.00 Manufactures Suggested list price and any difference between the estimated and final, actual value of the kitchen renovation project will not be awarded. All costs and expenses associated with the kitchen renovation project in excess of the project allowances set forth will be the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner. The Grand Prize Winner must cooperate fully with the Sponsor and suppliers and is solely responsible for obtaining and paying the costs of any permits, inspections or licenses required by applicable laws, regulations or ordinances to complete the kitchen project. The Grand Prize is provided "as is" without any express or implied warranty of any kind from the sponsor. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.

6. Winner Notification and Acceptance
The Grand Prize winner will be notified on April 27, 2010 by telephone or live on a morning TV or radio show of YBC choice. All other finalists will be notified by mail. The Grand Prize winner may waive his or her right to receive the Grand Prize.

The Grand Prize is non-transferable and the kitchen renovation project may only be performed at the residence depicted in the Grand Prize winner's entry. No cash equivalents or substitutions will be allowed to the Grand Prize Winner.

The Grand Prize and individual components of the Grand Prize package are subject to availability and the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize or prize component with a prize or component of equal or greater retail value.

Failure to comply with the terms or conditions of these official rules may result in the disqualification of the Grand Prize winner, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the Grand Prize, and the award of the Grand Prize to a substitute winner.

Except where prohibited, acceptance of any prize constitutes the Grand Prize winner's consent to the Sponsor's use of his or her name in any media for promotional purposes without limitation or further compensation.

If the Grand Prize is not won and claimed by an individual in accordance with these Official Rules, the Grand Prize will not be awarded and will remain the property of the Sponsor.

HanStone maximum retail value is $5,250 at suggested list $75/sq.ft.

In the event the Grand Prize Winner has purchased a Diamond Kitchen from YBC between the dates of January 24, and March 26, 2011, YBC will issue a YBC store credit up to $7,500.00. To determine the credit amount, YBC will use the price YBC charged to the customer on their Diamond Cabinets & HanStone counter top. If the purchase price on the Diamond Cabinets & HanStone counter top is greater than $7,500.00, YBC will issue the customer a YBC store credit for a maximum of $7,500.00. If the purchase is less than $7,500.00, on the contest qualifying products, YBC will issue the customer a YBC store credit for the purchase amount of the contest qualifying products. If the customer did not purchase from YBC, Diamond Cabinets or HanStone Counter Top the credit will be issued on the qualifying products up to a maximum of $7,500.00 YBC store credit. YBC store credit can only be issued if the contest winner has purchased the Diamond Cabinets & HanStone counter top. If YBC store credit is issued, it must be used by December 31, 2011 or value of store credit will be void. If the contest winner has not purchased Diamond Cabinets & HanStone counter top, they must take these items as their grand prize, no cash value will be given.

7. Participation
By participating, contestants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor and the contest judges, appointed by the Sponsor, which shall be final in all respects. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of the Contest as solely determined by the sponsor.

In the event the contest is compromised by tampering or any other cause beyond reasonable control of the Sponsor which corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the contest, the Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest.

8. Sponsor
YBC's Ugliest Kitchen Contest is sponsored by Your Building Centers, MasterBrand/Diamond Cabinetry, HanStone Fine Quartz Surfaces. The decision of Sponsor and the Contest Judges regarding the selection of the winner, the interpretation of these Official Rules and all other aspects of the Contest shall be final and binding in all respects.

The sponsor will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in any other material or announcements relating to the contest.

9. Tax Responsibilities
Contest winner is responsible for all taxes: state, local and federal taxes. Contest winner will be billed by YBC and must pay YBC for the PA sales tax on the total value of their winnings up to $20,000.00 at manufactures suggested list price. The contest winner will also be required to provide YBC with their Social Security number so YBC can 1099 the contest winner for the total value of their wining up to $20,000.00 at manufactures suggested list price. If the contest winner does not comply the contest winner will not be able to claim the prize, the prize will not be given away and the prize will become the property of YBC
